2016 Hair Trends: Haircuts, Hair Colors and Hairstyles
Now that my hair is very long (if you want to know all the secrets of my hair, please check this post out HERE) I can finally experiment with hairstyles which I’d never have done with before, just because I didn’t have long and thick hair enough. One of the latest 2016 hairstyle trends that I really like, after seeing it for the first time on Kylie Jenner, is the boxer braid! But it is not the only one. So I thought today to write this post all about hair: here’s a complete guide to all the latest trends in terms of haircuts, hair colors and hairstyles!
1. BOXER BRAID
Double side braid starting from the hairline, framing the head. The chic detail: cover both the elastics with a thin chunk of hair!

2. SLICKED HAIR
Strong smoothed hairstyle is so cool at the moment, and it only needs the help of a hair pomade. It is ideal for hiding not very clean or flat hair, such as after an intense workout session. The chic detail: collect the rest of the hair into a bun or high ponytail.
3. HAIR CHOKER HAIRSTYLE
The newest hair trend of the moment, seen on many catwalks of SS 2016. It consists in stopping the hair gently at the neck with a silk scarf, a velvet ribbon or a choker necklace, as in some sort of a low ponytail. The chic detail: good for contouring the face and highlight the cheekbones.
Ponytails and buns now are low and messy. The chic detail: perfect for girls that are not good at doing her hair.
Long live the bob! This year is all about straight or with soft beach waves. The chic detail: try the geometric cut with bangs or the layered one.
Lots of Grammy Awards for Taylor Swift in 2016. I’ll add one for her perfect bob haircut!
2. A LA GARÇONNE
Another cool haircut is the boyish. The chic detail: important to style your hair with waves, to add volume to the face.
3. LONG FRINGE
Slimmer without dieting? With the right haircut, you can. Try the long bangs/fringe that frames your face. The chic detail: with a lob or long hair, it increases the perception of a thinner face.
A pioneer of this hairstyle the model Alexa Chung.
4. 70s LAYERED STYLE
Maxi scaled lengths, with central parting. The chic detail: leave the hair slightly waved or even with well-defined curls.
Olivia Palermo’s hair are now long again, after years of lob haircut.
1. HAIR CONTOURING
Inspired by the make-up technique that sculpts your face, highlighting the strengths and camouflaging the defects. It can also be done with the hair, playing with colors: the darker tones are used to tighten round faces, the lighter ones to fill oval or elongated faces. The chic detail: is perfect on every cut, even the medium-short one.

2. CHERRY BOMBRE
The new hair color for spring 2016. The word is a mix of cherry bomb and ombre, the technique of bleaching hair similar to shatush. Designed exclusively for those with dark hair, the cherry bombre is an intense cherry red with burgundy shades. The chic detail: is perfect on both brown and black hair.

3. PASTEL HAIR
After the granny trend, the new one, seen everywhere on Instagram, is the rainbow hair! Many shades of color that recall the mane of the unicorns. For those who do not want to dare all over the head, try just on the tips! The chic detail: leave the roots of your natural color.
